A New Era of Revolutionary Thinking: 14th National Party Congress’s Draft Documents

The draft documents for the 14th National Party Congress have been refined to be more revolutionary, action-oriented, and feasible, affirmed Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh on April 16.

Chinh made the statement at a national teleconference of the Party Central Committee’s Politburo and Secretariat to discuss the implementation of the Resolution of the 11th plenum of the 13th Party Central Committee. He presented a speech on the core contents and new points in the draft documents, including reports on Vietnam’s renewal process, Party building, and the socio-economic development strategy for 2021-2030.

From the 10th to the 11th plenum, the global situation evolved rapidly and unpredictably. Vietnam responded with actions suited to the global situation and domestic conditions, including a “revolution in reorganizing the apparatus,” promoting science, technology, and digital transformation, and integrating internationally. The country aims for 8% growth in 2025, with a focus on developing the private economy as a key driver.

At the 11th plenum, delegates contributed 538 ideas to perfect the drafts. The addition of new content demonstrates the Party’s wisdom and flexibility, affirmed the Prime Minister.

The political report emphasizes development for stability and vice versa, comprehensive institutional building, addressing bottlenecks, and unlocking resources. It also pushes for breakthroughs in science, technology, and digital transformation, attracting talent, and promoting new productive forces.

Regarding the socio-economic development strategy, the Prime Minister stated that the 2021-2025 results will highlight decisive actions and policies, including the apparatus reorganization and local government models. The forecast for 2026-2030 outlines tasks on improving institutions, accelerating industrialization, developing the private economy, and making breakthroughs in science and technology.

The draft report on Party building affirms the Party’s leadership as the key to victory. In the new era, enhancing the Party’s leadership and governance effectiveness is crucial, with a focus on leading the country into a new era of rise.

The Party Central Committee has agreed on key tasks, including perfecting the political system’s organization and controlling power. Three breakthrough solutions are proposed for the 14th term, focusing on self-renewal, enhancing leadership, and implementing the new organizational structure.

The leader expressed his belief that with these refined documents, the Party Congress will be a success, providing a strong foundation for the country’s development in the new era.
